With just a few days to go until the October 31 end of the Traffic Ticket Amnesty, Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is continuing to urge motorists to avoid the expected last minute rush by making use of the various payment options available to them. October 28 is the final Saturday available to motorists who wish to pay ahead of the expected rush, with three additional offices operating to bolster the tax authority’s capacity to assist persons who wish to pay early inline. The following offices will operate between the hours of 10am-2pm:
- Santa Cruz (new)
- Kingston (new)
- Port Maria (new)
- Constant Spring
- Montego Bay
- Spanish Town
- May Pen
- St. Ann’s Bay
The Portmore Tax Office will continue its regular Saturday opening time (10am-4pm).
Business persons are also being encouraged to utilize the convenience of this Saturday’s opening to pay and file their monthly GCT Returns ahead of the October 31 due date, as it coincides with the last day of the Traffic Ticket Amnesty. It is
expected that hundreds of motorists may be paying their outstanding traffic fines on the final day, which would increase wait time at tax offices.
For even greater convenience taxpayers may use a valid credit card to pay their outstanding traffic fines online at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm from the convenience of their home, office or mobile device. This can also be done using the eSpot facility available in major Tax Offices, with on spot support.
Motorists are reminded that they must have the traffic ticket or traffic ticket number to make a payment inline or online. Persons are advised to contact the JCF special Traffic Ticket Call Centre at 948-0411 for information on outstanding tickets.
