TAJ publishes Court Cases for outstanding sums of over $450M
The breaches, which range across tax types such as PAYE, Income Tax, Education Tax, GCT, Trade Licence, Asset and Property Tax, led to the publishing of names of delinquent taxpayers who were brought before the courts in the parish of St. James.
TAJ through its Tax Offices Island wide, Compliance Officers assigned to the different regions will intensify their enforcement activities. Updates will be given periodically through the publishing of businesses and or individual names of delinquent taxpayers who have been brought before the courts by TAJ.
Taxpayers are therefore encouraged to speak with Compliance Officers to make suitable arrangements, if they are faced with difficulties in honouring their tax obligations, to avoid enforcement action. The tax authority will continue to intensify its enforcement and collections efforts to recover outstanding sums, while increasing its taxpayer education and improving service delivery.
