TAJ publishes names of delinquent taxpayers taken to Court
The breaches, which range across tax types such as PAYE, Income Tax, Education Tax, GCT and Property Tax, led to the delinquent taxpayers being brought before the courts in the parishes of St. James, Manchester, St. Elizabeth and Kingston & St. Andrew, after other attempts to collect failed.
Through its Tax Offices Island wide, TAJ Compliance Officers assigned to the different regions will intensify enforcement activities across the island. TAJ will continue to update the public on the outcome of such actions by periodically publishing of names of delinquent taxpayers who have been brought before the courts and where judgments have been handed down for failure to file and or make payments. A similar list was published in July 2014.
Taxpayers are therefore encouraged to speak with TAJ to make suitable arrangements, if they are faced with difficulties in honouring their tax obligations, to avoid enforcement action.
