Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) wishes to advise business persons and tax professionals that Income Tax Forms have been revised for the 2017/18 Income Tax Filing period. The forms, which have been revised to reflect legislative changes and feedback from clients, are available for download at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm for persons opting to file inline at a Tax Office. TAJ has also configured its eServices platform to reflect these changes for businesses required to file online and for those opting for the convenience of filing online.
Tax preparers are reminded that they must use the relevant forms with thecorresponding filing period, whether filing inline or online, to ensure that Returns filed are processed smoothly to avoid any delays or penalties.
Persons are reminded that March 15 is the due date for all companies, organisations, selfemployed persons, as well as employed persons with additional sources of income or multiple employment, to file their Annual Income Tax Return for the year 2017 and to declare their Estimated Income and Tax Payable for the year 2018, using the revised forms related to the particular year and business category.
Income Tax filers, including professionals and self-employed persons such as entertainers, doctors, lawyers, realtors, landlords, shopkeepers, barbers, hairdressers, taxi/bus operators and others are also encouraged to register to file and pay online via the TAJ’s tax portal at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.
Taxpayers may get additional support by contacting 1-888-829-4357 or visiting the “How To” section at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm for user-friendly instructions on how to file Income Tax Returns online. TAJ has further increased its online filing capacity by providing designated eTaxSpots in major offices, in addition to the eFiling Centre at the Constant Spring Revenue Service Centre, for the electronic filing of Returns while getting support from TAJ personnel.
